About AirCheck
AirCheck is a macOS app that records what your Mac plays, or any microphone and audio interface, to one WAV or MP3 file with one button. It uses Apple's ScreenCaptureKit for system audio, so there is no virtual audio driver to install. It costs $39 once and runs on macOS 14 or newer.
Who makes it?
Hannes Hennerbichler, a solo developer and DJ from Austria. AirCheck started as the tool he uses to record his own DJ sets: a Pioneer DDJ-SZ into a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 into a Mac, for sets that run two hours or more without a break. The dropout watchdog, the channel-pair picker and the unlimited length all come from that use.
How are the guides written?
The guides answer the questions people actually type into Google and Bing about recording audio on a Mac. The question list was harvested from search autocomplete and People Also Ask, not invented. Each page states the macOS version the steps were run on, cites Apple documentation or the vendor page for outside facts, and includes at least one number measured on the author's own Mac, such as file size per minute from 45 real recordings. Drafts are produced with AI assistance and checked and edited by the author. Where a free built-in tool or a competitor is the better choice, the page says so.
